At my current position as a Cloud Engineer at the Dallas Stars, I specialize in developing and maintaining solutions with a primary focus on Azure cloud infrastructure. With a strong background in IT support, passion for cloud technologies, and a degree in Computer Engineering from UNT, I have successfully implemented various projects that range from automating repetitive business processes to developing and deploying custom applications, all aimed at leveraging the power of the cloud to meet organizational needs. My career progression from IT Technician to Cloud Engineer has given me a unique perspective on how infrastructure decisions impact end-users, allowing me to build solutions that are both technically sound and operationally practical.
- Maintain and overhaul existing cloud infrastructure.
- Develop cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure for IT, BI, etc.
- Automate repetitive business processes.
- Plus portions of my role before as IT Support Coordinator
- Develop solutions that fit department needs and maintainability/longevity.
- Coordinate and assist other departments with tech needs.
- Primary point of contact for helpdesk related issues.
- Plus everything from my role as IT Technician.
Full description:
In such a small department things are ever changing but 2 main responsibilities arose: Develop solutions to issues presented by other departments, focusing on issues that could use a coding/dev solution using whatever language fit best; Python, C#, PowerShell, JS/HTML/CSS. As the goal of these projects generally were aimed at helping speed processes up or make something easier I strived to make the usability and maintainability as simple as possible. Keeping it simple helped the project outlive me as the users could use and maintain it. Be the go-to person for in-person troubleshooting on various helpdesk issues. With my experience helping Teachers, Dentists, coaches, and more I learned how to work with all sorts of people and in all kinds of situations. All of that led to the skills of being effective in helping troubleshoot issues with people, even if I did not know the answer right away.
- Troubleshoot general software & hardware issues.
- Teach basic software & hardware for new tech.
- Live event support (Stars hockey games).
- Manage networks for events (tenant events).
Full description:
Day to day responsibilities include providing support & training for both on-site and remote employees on both sides of the company, normal business operations & hockey operations. This ranged from providing live event support during the team's games, managing network requests/management for events at our public centers when tenants rented the space out, and troubleshooting employee's hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot general software & hardware issue remotely and in person.
- Teach basic software & hardware troubleshooting to office staff.
Full description:
Provided both remote in person support for the corporate office and ~100 dental offices across the country. This included troubleshooting hardware and software issues on products ranging from a standard office setup to dental hardware; such as oral cameras, x-ray machines, and more. I also worked with staff in the remote dental offices to help them learn basic troubleshooting skills so they could either resolve issues themselves in the future or at least be able to provide me with the information I needed to help them.
